Andy worked in Puerto Rico for the whole month of August. I got to join him for 8 days! The kids had a great time with BB & Papa in Texas. Andy worked 7 of the 8 days I was there, but we enjoyed eating out & site seeing in the evenings & I went to work with him one day to explore the El Yunque rain forest. It was beautiful, perfect weather, awesome hotel & food. Great trip!! I hope we can go again, but with Andy not having to work so much :) I definitely decided that the Caribbean climate is my favorite - I loved the warm, ocean air & humidity.
Highest lookout in the El Yunque -
the radar where Andy worked all summer -
historical ruins in the rain forest -
my first experience eating the Puerto Rican delicacy, mofungo - delicious!! I had mine with shrimp & scallops.
Hands down, our favorite restaurant of the trip - la estacion in Fajardo
We drove quite a distance for Jendy's ice cream - Trip Advisor said it was the best ice cream on the island. It was very good! It was so busy that when we arrived they made you take a number & then they called your number when it was your turn to order. Never have had to draw a number for ice cream before!
Andy's day off was spent at the beach!
another good restaurant in Old San Juan - Marmalade
the beautiful grounds & pool at the Ritz Carleton where we stayed -
Can't wait to go back!!
