Things We've Made...

Back in August, Michael kept asking if he could make a treasure box. So I found these plain ones at Hobby Lobby & they had fun paining them one morning. They had me add their names & now they love keeping all their treasures in them.

Michael made this "All About Me" guy for the first week of school - things he wanted on it: a Lego set, a Thunder jersey, a basketball, a soccer ball & a slice of pizza :)
A few weeks ago the kids had fun painting these little pumpkins...even David loved it. I think he also had fun painting his lips too :)

Lifegroup Flag Football

Last Sunday afternoon our Lifegroup met at Mitch Park for a picnic lunch & flag football. Lots of fun! Pretty chilly & windy, but fun to hang out as families!

Po & Nana Visit!

Po & Nana came to visit in Sept. We loved them being here. The kids kept them very entertained. Po & Michael did a lot of drawing together & Kate loved playing with Nana. We enjoyed Mexican food & they got me cupcakes for my birthday. It was a fun time. We wish we could see them more often :(

Michael's First Soccer Game - Sept 2013

Michael is playing with Edmond Soccer Club again this fall. He still loves it. The season is about to end & he's already telling us he wants to play in the spring. Although he's one of the smallest players, he's very aggressive & plays hard.

Kate's First Day of Pre-K & David's MDO

Kate is in a M-W-F Pre-K & has Ms. Patricia & Ms.Kiley as her teachers. Michael had them in Pre-K too. We love them!! Kate is loving it. She is learning new things like crazy - writing her name, what letters start what words, counting, patterns, etc. She still talks about music a lot & also loves art on Fridays. I'm so thankful that she loves school so much. David cried when I dropped him off at MDO the first few weeks, but walks right in now. He has Ms. Debbie & Ms. Kelly. They are also very sweet. They tell me he keeps them laughing & entertained :)

Michael's First Day of First Grade!

Michael started first grade in August & is loving it. He loves his teacher, Mrs. Pratt, and 4 other neighborhood kids, including our next door neigbor, are in his class as well. We are so thankful to be at such a wonderful school. He is still riding the bus everyday this year with lots of his friends. On the first day we had juice & muffins for the kids before the bus came. He is taking off with reading & loves to read on the computer on RazKids. He says his favorite things at school are math, recess, centers & PE

Daddy is HOME!!!

Andy got home at the end of August after being gone 3 wks in June & 4 weeks in August. So to say we were excited to see him is an understatement!! We made him a special welcome home dinner & cookie cake :) He was so tired of eating out & Puerto Rican food, so he was thrilled with a home cooked meal!

Carrie & Kids Visit

Andy was gone the whole month of August, so Carrie & her kids came to visit for a few days. The kids had a blast playing together. Michael & Luke played lots of Legos. Kate & Claire played lots of dress up. And the "babies," David & Cora, kind of just followed the big kids around & stayed busy :) It was a great visit!

Things to Remember - June to Present

Michael -
*"I can swim without a floatie! I can brush my own hair! I am getting SOOO big!!!"
*"Mommy, I need to tell you something (looking at weather app on iPhone) - Today's high is 99. Tomorrow's high is 98. And then on Sunday we're going to have another rain." Running out of the room, "Kate, I know what the weather is!!"
*"I love having a little brother. He plays with me. And maybe I'll even like him when he grows up!!"
*M rolled his eyes at me when I asked him to do something. I sent him to time out & he said (verrrrry dramatically), "But my eyes didn't mean to!!!!" :)
*I had spilled some water in the kitchen. Michael quickly told me not to worry, that he would clean it up. I left the kitchen & came back to the water cleaned up & his little toy safety cones sitting in the area where the spilled water had been. So clever!
*One evening I asked Michael if he would vacuum. He enthusiastically said yes & ran to get the vacuum. I wonder how long I can keep this going? :)

Kate -
*I love this story that Andy's mom posted on FB when she was keeping the kids in August - making muffins is a tradition at BeBe's house. Kate, age 4, getting us organized: "i'll take the first turn and put in the first thing, and then Michael gets a turn." Bebe: how did you decide that you get to be first? Michael (age 6): Yeah, Kate. you're not the boss. You are not an adult, and you are not a policeman." Kate: Well, i'm going to be a kitty cat when I grow up. Michael, breaking up in great laughter: You can't ever be a kitty cat, silly. You are a human. you can be a policeman when you grow up but you cannot be a kitty cat."
I'm glad Michael understood the conversation. Bebe was a little unsure how we got fron the muffin part to the the kitty cat part.*Kate loves dance class & Pre-K. She talks about her school friend, Kaitlyn, constantly. She got invited to play at Kaitlyn's house the other day & was SO excited.
*On my bday - "Mommy, what's your number now?"

David -
*He discovered the big pool in late July & didn't want much to do with the kiddy pool after that. He quickly became a little fish.
*He loves to dance still, and definitely likes to be the center of attention. Apparently he is quite the little clown in his MDO class :)
*He's slowly getting more & more words. He's going through a phase now where he repeats something over & over until we respond. "Milk, milk, milk, milk..." Kind of cute, kind of annoying :)
*On Michael's first day of school, David walked around the house all day saying, "Where Guycul?" over & over :( Such sweet brothers.
