Kate's School Picture

I'm usually not a fan of the flower background school pictures, but I couldn't resist purchasing this one of Kate.

Underwear, Gymnastics & Kissing...

Last Thursday Michael started gymnastics. He LOVED it. It took him a few minutes to warm up, but eventually he was having a ball. He has asked everyday since if he gets to go today.
After class I took M & K to Chick-fil-a for lunch. When we got there I needed to use the ladies' room & Michael informed me that he needed to go potty too. Kate & I went in one stall & he went in another one. Then in a VERY loud voice he shouted from the other stall, "Mommy! I'm not wearing any underwear!" It was so funny, especially when I realized another lady was in the bathroom, laughing quietly to herself. Michael has been getting dressed by himself in the mornings for a while now, but this is definitely the first time he has forgotten underwear.
Another humorous conversation he & I had the other night - I was tucking him in bed & he said, "Mommy, I want to give you a kiss." I turned my cheek towards him, but he put both hands on my face & tried to turn my face towards him. "I want to kiss you on the mouth." he said. I told him that I would rather him kiss me on the cheek. He asked why of course. I told him that moms & their kids kiss each other on the cheek (at least we do anyway :) So he said, "Well, can I kiss my friends on the mouth?" I said, "No, that wouldn't be a good idea. You can hold hands or hug your friends." (Or not touch them at all! is what I was thinking :) Then he said, "But why? I like to kiss on the mouth!" Ummm...you do? At age four? And you know this from experience?!? It was quite funny...I had to work really hard to keep from laughing.

Garage Sale!

We had our first ever garage sale last weekend. It was very successful on Friday - beautiful weather, lots of people & we sold a lot as well! Saturday was cold & horrible garage sale weather - we did manage to have a few customers and sell a few more things. Michael was my little helper...and Matthew too - he's in the background. He helped by being my guard dog:) Overall, the sale was a success and I will do one again - but not in the near future & never again at 33 weeks pregnant :)

Magical Moments

I have come to notice that Michael & Kate have moments of playing that I will term 'magical.' They disappear and quietly play together so well that I almost forget they are in the house. And no, so far it hasn't meant that they are up to no good - but I'm sure that day is coming :) Last night after baths & getting ready for bed, they sat down at Michael's little table in his room & played & played & played - for at least 20 minutes. I have no idea what they were doing or what they were talking about...but it was so cute. I really hated to end their fun & put them to bed. Now if they will just have lots of these magical moments in May...and June...and July...!!

33 Weeks! 3/28/11

Sweet Baby David has not received near enough blog time! I think this is only the 3rd tummy photo I have taken this whole pregnancy. And it's with my phone in a mirror! Oh well :) Michael wanted to be in the picture too - love that he is wearing his construction hat & using his toy tractor as his "camera." I love his little imagination. This pregnancy has been so different from the others - harder in a lot of ways. I guess that's what happens when you are keeping up with 2 other kiddos! We are so excited to meet David in 6 short weeks! Andy's & my biggest question - will he look like Michael?? When Kate was born we thought she was Michael's twin, she looked so similar!
At 30 weeks we had an ultrasound just to make sure everything was on track. Our Dr. was very pleased and even said, "I am a happy camper! He looks perfect!" What a blessing to hear those words! Here is a pic of his little profile. I think at the time he weighed 2 lbs, 9 oz. We also put his delivery date on the calendar - Wednesday, May 11, 2011.

A Little About Michael 3/2011

*4 Year Dr. Appt. - Weight - 29.2 lbs, 5%; Height - 37 1/2 inches, 5%
*So positive & observant - "I'm so glad I got new Lightening McQueen pj's!" "I like your pink toenails Mommy!" "Look at me! I'm Big!"; "I love you SO much Mommy!" I was holding my coffee mug without using the handle & he said, "You can use the handle if you want to Mommy."
*Is consistently getting up at night by himself to go potty - doesn't wake us up or anything! Woo Hoo!
*Funnies - He looked at a painting that Kate did at MDO & said, "Well, I bet her teacher helped her do that!"; He put his play cell phone on the table & said, "I don't need this cell phone anymore. No one is calling me!"; He told our friend Esther, "Did you know Mommy has a baby in her tummy? What I don't understand is how it got stuck in there! And what I really don't understand is how it will get out!"; I called him into the bathroom to fix his hair & brush his teeth. He didn't come so I called him again. He came running around the corner, pushing bear in Kate's doll stroller. He looked at me seriously & said, "Sorry I'm late. I was in traffic."
*I was reading him "The Little Engine That Could" & learned that I can no longer skip words in his favorite books. He caught me & made me go back - correcting me Word for Word!!
*He loves saying the first letter in words. He loves to rhyme. "Let's rhyme some more Mommy!!" He loves to "read" picture books by himself - His favorites to do this with are "No No Yes Yes" & "Big Little."
*A policeman came to his preschool on Monday & he was SO excited to tell me about it & what he learned - wearing seat belts, helping people & not talking to strangers. He got a policeman sticker & said, "I saw his red & blue lights on his police car!" It made his day!
*He was singing a song, "Let's have fun & share. Let's have a great day!" It sounded like a real song so I asked him if he learned it at school or church. He said,"No, God told it to me."
*He is SO excited about baby David. We took him to our ultrasound yesterday & he said, "I can't wait to see Baby David on the special camera!" He daily comes up to my tummy & says, "Hi Baby David. I love you!" and gives him a kiss.
Michael, I love you more than you know. You are such a blessing to me and I couldn't ask for a sweeter little man. You are a wonderful big brother to Kate. Thank you for sharing with her and helping her. I know you are going to be such a big helper & great big brother to David too. I absolutely love watching you learn each day & I love the funny things you say. I thank God for putting you in our life and I pray that He is working in your heart, preparing you to know Him as your Savior. I love you my man! Love, Mommy

Fun Phone Pics

Kate loves chatting with her "friend" in the mirror.
One evening when Molly was at our house, she played Dr. and Kate was the very cooperative patient!
During our weeks of snow & staying inside, Matthew kept himself busy playing with Michael & Kate's toys.
Kate looked like such a big girl last week at our friend's house!

Kate is 20 months old! March 2, 2011

I have to say it because I'm Kate's mommy - I can't believe she is 20 months old, just 4 months from being 2. It really does go fast. When we first found out we were pregnant with #3, I remember saying that Kate would be 22 months old when David was born. It sounded SO far away - her being 22 months old. Now it's right around the corner.
Kate, you are SO much fun. I am so thankful that God chose us to be your family. Your happy smiles bless me each day. I love that you want to play with your brother - one of y'alls favorites right now is piling the baby doll strollers full of stuff and racing around the house with them - I call it "stroller derby." You also love to disappear to your room by yourself & I will find you sitting in the floor with books & toys all around you, talking away. You love your Minnie blanket (mimi) & you LOVE books. I think you would let us read to you for hours if we would. You do have a feisty side - taking toys from Michael, running from Mommy, and even biting Michael a few days ago. And I do look forward to you not throwing food on the floor too :) One exciting thing you learned to do this month is blow your nose! Yay! You seem to have new words every single day & you are starting to put 2 words together! It is so fun watching you grow & learn! I am praying that the Lord will prepare your little heart for your brother David.
I know you will be a wonderful big sister. I love you Miss K! Love, Mommy

Sweet Friends & Surprises

These girls - Julie, Carrie & Elizabeth - have been my close friends since Junior High. We have kept in touch over the years with fun get-togethers, emails, phone calls & facebook. Even now as busy mommys, with 7 children between us (& 2 more on the way :), we have still figured out how to get together at least once a year (thanks to our WONDERFUL husbands!! :) Last weekend was one of those - our husbands all took care of our children and we had awesome girl-time Friday - Sunday at my house. I think every second we were awake, we were talking :) We had so much fun! They also planned a fun surprise for me, which was so sweet. We had already planned on eating lunch at Inspirations Tea Room on Saturday. What I didn't know is that it would be a Baby David celebration lunch!
These sweet girls - Daree, Sueanna, Kira & Katie - have been my close friends since we moved to OKC almost 9 years ago. With the help of my husband, Carrie & the others contacted each of them to invite them to David's lunch. What fun it was to have my history friends and my OKC friends meet each other and all be together. They all gave me much encouragement & a certificate for a 1 hr massage! Yay! I can't wait!

THANK YOU Dear Friends! I love you & I thank God for putting each of you in my life!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

February is a big celebration month in our family - My birthday, Daddy's birthday & Valentine's day. Mommy made & decorated 4 cakes and one batch of cupcakes this month. She has declared that she is DONE with baking, at least for a little while! We had so much fun celebrating Daddy's birthday - some friends came over and we had yummy snack food, cookie cake and played games. We LOVE you so much Daddy & we thank God for you!!
